Retroid Pocket 2+ is revolutionary! In the history of handhelds there has never been a console with this price and power, certainly it is the greatest cost benefit of what my community calls THE NEW GENERATION OF PORTABLE CONSOLES.

This portable emulator is sold on the official GoRetroid website for 99 dollares (+12 shipping), and is my biggest recommendation today.

GAMECUBE

Retroid has sent RP2+ to emulator developers to optimize their apps for the console, this strategy has worked and the Dolphin MMJR2 emulator is the best example of this.

Normally I recommend installing this version of github official BUT there is a modified version for RP2+ that you find exclusively inside the device itself following the instructions below:

1. Update your RP2+, just navigate to System > Settings > Updater and update;
2. After restarting, navigate to > Settings Handheld Settings > Advanced and click Re-enter Setup Wizard (don’t worry, nothing will be erased), the console will restart once again;
3. In Setup Wizard press R a few times to skip the first screens until you reach “Preinstall apps”, mark the “purple dolphin” icon, and press R two more times to finish setup wizard;

Now the best version of Dolphin is installed on your console! You can now open the app, scan by games, map the control and start playing! But before I recommend pre config the emulator,it’s easy just to follow the 2 steps below:

1. In RP2+ open a Browser (I recommend Google Chrome) and go to this GITHUB, click the green button to download the file . ZIP (if you have difficulty, click here to download);
2. Open a file management app (I recommend Solid Explorer),navigate to the Downloads folder, go to the . ZIP and transfer the Dolphin.ini and GFX files.ini from the gamecube/community settings/ folder to the mmjr-revamp/config/folder, replace the pre-existing files;

Ready! Your console is optimized to emulate GameCube as I do in my test videos! This compatibility list is very useful!

N64

FZurita is the developer of Mupen64 FZ,the best N64 emulator for Android,and he also received an RP2+ from Retroid for optimization. Currently the best settings for N64 emulation in RP2+, according to the developer himself, are:

1. Install Mupen64 FZ (free or PRO)directly from the PlayStore (uninstall the pre-installed version if necessary);
2. Open the emulator, navigate to Emulation Profiles, select GLideN64-Very-Accurate, and create a copy with another name (example GLideN64-Very-Accurate-FZ). Press OK, activate “Use faster shaders” and adjust “use native resolution factor” to 1x. Then go back, navigate to Select Profiles, and switch to the Emulation Profile you just created;

The developer also points out that at 1x the edges are “jagged”, you can smooth this in setup by activating Shader FXAA at 1x (in 2x it can cause slowdowns).
