Luiza and Álvaro are a couple of theater artists from São Paulo/BRAZIL, she is an actress, and he is a professional clown.
We met a few years ago during a season of the “Ópera do Malandro” (The Street Hustler’s Opera) by Chico Buarque, directed by Kleber Montanheiro and presented by Cia da Revista. Like most theater professionals, they are very rich in love and friends. It turns out that these friends are artists who converted the night into a spectacle full of humor, without losing the true feeling of marriage. The ceremony was conducted by another couple of actors, who ironically explained the benefits of the cigarette for the sake of love, and how the classic excuse of “we’re going out for a smoke” was used to leave Luiza and Álvaro alone as soon as they were presented.
At one moment a chorus of children sang and played Chico Buarque. Then the bride decided to make a surprise, instead of the vows she sang to the groom, who in turn had planned the same surprise, sang the classic “Your song” of Elton John for her, and the guests sang together the chorus ” I hope you do not mind! I hope you do not mind!”.
